Our Story

With a passion for sewing and entrepreneurship, our co-founders are known Social Impact Specialists who strive to make a difference in the community they serve.

Both armed with a passion for sewing and entrepreneurship, their goal was pretty simple – to share their skills with disadvantaged women and create a sustainable solution for them towards rebuilding their livelihood.

Originally from London, England, Theresa has over 20 years experience in creativity, PR and entrepreneurship as well as qualifications in Fashion & Design. Theresa uses her passion for sewing and interest in craft-based skills to found several businesses and initiatives including the community awareness/engagement platform SolidariTEA Arabia, reMADE DXB offering sewing classes and founded Wild Things and Bunting Queens together with Carla.

Hailing from the Philippines, Carla started her early career with the Hilton Group in Hotel & Restaurant Management after finishing her undergraduate degree. Carla moved to Dubai from the UK, in 2007. Armed with an enterpreneurial spirit and a passion for sewing and creative crafts, Carla set up Bright & Beautiful Me in 2007 – a creative fabrics ideas portal and blog.

Carla first partnered with Theresa in 2015 to set up Wild Things and Bunting Queens. Bunting Queens were Finalists of Women-Able 2016, a mentorship programme for women-led businesses sponsored by the Cherie Blair Foundation For Women, PWC and Dubai Women’s Business Council.

From then on the duo continued to be active in the Dubai sewing communities providing invaluable insights on all things sewing.
