Bringing art, waste, and purposeful teamwork together in the heart of DIFC
Art, waste, and purposeful teamwork came together in the heart of DIFC. In this high-impact workshop, Standard Chartered Bank employees transformed nearly 100kg of discarded materials into two striking murals—now proudly displayed in their Dubai offices.
In partnership with Companies for Good and facilitated by Skills3, Standard Chartered Bank employees took over the iconic DIFC atrium for a dynamic Waste to Art Mural Workshop.
The session began with a fast-paced art quiz to spark creativity and light-hearted competition. Working in teams, participants sorted through waste collected from their homes and offices—ranging from coffee pods and packaging to broken electronics and scrap materials. Armed with drills, hammers, and paint, they collaborated to create two towering murals, each over 3 metres high.
A custom spray zone added bold colour and expression, while the act of building together fostered conversation around sustainability and teamwork. By the end, nearly 100kg of waste had been repurposed into two powerful art installations.
These finished murals now hang in both Standard Chartered offices in DIFC, standing as daily reminders of creativity, collaboration, and conscious impact.
